Sublimation is the sixth release from A Little Fire Scarecrow. Perhaps the most vulnerable and honest of the band’s efforts to date, the album is an exploration of Coraline’s mental health challenges, including Bipolar Disorder, suicidal ideation, dissociation, and anxiety. The aptly named “Trigger Warning” is a breathless story of her hospitalization following a suicide attempt. “Manic Defense” is an in-your-face anthem of sorts, describing the phenomenon of substituting the energy of mania in a situation that would normally trigger depression. The album ends with a remake of Good Day by the Dresden Dolls.
Sublimation is the first release featuring a collaboration with new band member Jeremy Green on percussion, and also features bass by Kevin Chatham and Frederick Wells.
